Vince & Mindi... VINCE & MINDI are a western duo from Firth, Idaho, featuring: MINDI REID and VINCENT CROFTS. Mindi plays the bass and has an outstanding voice that is guaranteed to inspire, accompanied by Vincents excellent guitar or mandolin work and harmony lines they have arranged some wonderful duets.  Vincent is also an excellent fiddler so this duet is able to mix it up with some fun instrumentals and provide quite a variety show.  Vince and Mindi began performing together in 2005 to appreciative audiences that immediately began requesting a CD. Their CD "LONGING FOR THE RANGE" was completed in the fall of 2007 and has received high praise from all who have heard it. Western and cowboy music is their home base but they draw on a wide variety of musical influences: Swing, old-time & bluegrass. They play a fun variety of instrumentals and fiddle tunes as well as nicely arranged duets. Mindi has a stunning voice and the two harmonize beautifully. This entertaining duet was selected to perform at the 2008 National Cowboy Poetry Gathering in Elko, Nevada. They have also twice performed on the popular Idaho Pubic Television program “Outdoor Idaho”. IDAHO GETAWAYS; featuring Butch Small’s ranch out of Dubois, Idaho. Mindi: Born and raised on a farm/ranch along Idaho’s Blackfoot River, Mindi has a first hand understanding of the life she sings about in the old cowboy songs. Mindi studied voice at Montana State while she earned a degree in Recreation Administration. Her voice instructor adamantly refused to teach her the one thing she felt would round out her repertoire. He told her she would have to learn to yodel on her own. After college, her job as a ranch hand provided her with plenty of practice time and she yodeled her way to a small recording project in Nashville. Since then she’s had the opportunity to sing in an opera, travel with a chorale in Austria, sing and play in a dance band, and lately, ramble unknown trails with Vince Crofts looking for an opportunity to brighten a little corner of the West with a good song or two. Besides being an excellent bassist Mindi is an accomplished pianist and teaches piano and voice lessons. Vince: Is a native of southeast Idaho. His father taught him to play the mandolin at age 8. Later he learned guitar and fiddle. He is now hopelessly addicted to all three instruments. Vince is a popular “utility” musician and has had the opportunity to record and perform with many musician of regional note, including several shows and one trip to Europe with singer, songwriter Stephanie Davis. Besides his duet with Mindi, Vincent is a current member of the Shelley & Kelly Band from Jackson, Wyoming, and is a founding member of the old-time string band the Wild Coyotes (wildcoyotes-stringband.com). He often helps with musical programs in the community and teaches lessons on fiddle, mandolin, guitar, banjo and bass.
